On February 2, the UNO SAME Student Chapter hosted a Revit Seminar to teach students the basics of Revit and give some specific pointers on the scheduled SAME Student Chapter E-Week competition. Todd Shackelford from Leo A Daly presented on some of the basics of Revit and how it is implemented in engineering. Thank you to Todd for taking time out of his schedule to present this seminar!

On February 20 during E-Week, an AutoCAD and Revit Competition was hosted by the UNO SAME Student Chapter, promoting it across disciplines and grade levels. The challenge for the students was to create a castle. The event was both a competition and a learning process for students, and the judges helped answer questions in addition to grading the resulting drawings. Prizes were awarded based on participation and the complexity of the drawings. Participating judges were Kevin Busacker from Leo A Daly, Dr. Avery Schwer, a professor and the faculty advisor for the student chapter, and Dave Packard from the Army Corps of Engineers. The SAME Student Chapter would like to thank those who volunteered their time to organize and judge this event. It turned out to be a success! The resulting top three prize winners were UNO students Tyler Reed, winning first place, Edward McNamara, winning second place, and Riley Johnson, winning third place.
