Jack Goga, FSAME, received a plaque and recognition for his decades of service to the Pittsburgh Post during the President's reception at the SAME Small Business Conference on November 15.

SAME Successful Small Business Conference - Pittsburgh
The 2017 Federal Small Business Conference for the A/E/C Industry was held in Pittsburgh November 15-17, 2017. Many thanks to the SAME Staff, Pittsburgh Post's Volunteer Coordinator Suzanne Thomas, Volunteers from the Pittsburgh Post and other Posts, the many speakers, exhibitors, and attendees for making this conference a success with record attendance.

SAME Small Business Conference for A/E/C Industry
The SAME Small Business Conference will take place at Pittsburgh's David L. Lawrence Convention Center from November 15 through 17, 2017. Many members of the Pittsburgh Post have volunteered to help at this event, so we are not having a November luncheon and speaker.

10-10- 17 Presentation on the Columbus Wastewater Interceptor Tunnel Posted
Jeff Coffey provided a very informative presentation on the interceptor sewer augmentation and relief tunnel recently completed in Columbus, OH to minimize combined sewer overflows. A copy of the presentation can be downloaded at under the "past presentations" link.

The SAME Pittsburgh Post will be presenting awards at our May 9th Banquet for the following categories: Professional of the Year Outstanding Project of the Year Young Professional of the Year

Save the date: SAME Pittsburgh Post Annual Banquet
SAVE THE DATE: The SAME Pittsburgh Post Annual Banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum (SSMH). The SSMH is a National Register of Historic Places landmark and is the nation's only military memorial dedicated to honoring the men and women of all branches of services from all generations and conflicts. It has stood in honor of our veterans since 1910.

STEM Engineering and Construction Camps
Great opportunity for students in grades 9-11: The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), in conjunction with the military services, offers a series of week-long STEM engineering and construction camps designed for high school students (grades 9-11) who excel in math, science and technology courses and who are interested in Engineering, Architecture or related fields in college.
