10-10- 17 Presentation on the Columbus Wastewater Interceptor Tunnel Posted
Jeff Coffey provided a very informative presentation on the interceptor sewer augmentation and relief tunnel recently completed in Columbus, OH to minimize combined sewer overflows. A copy of the presentation can be downloaded at under the "past presentations" link.

Save the date: SAME Pittsburgh Post Annual Banquet


The SAME Pittsburgh Post Annual Banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum (SSMH). The SSMH is a National Register of Historic Places landmark and is the nation's only military memorial dedicated to honoring the men and women of all branches of services from all generations and conflicts. It has stood in honor of our veterans since 1910.

STEM Engineering and Construction Camps

Great opportunity for students in grades 9-11: The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), in conjunction with the military services, offers a series of week-long STEM engineering and construction camps designed for high school students (grades 9-11) who excel in math, science and technology courses and who are intersted in Engineering, Architecture or related fields in college. Through an application process, selected students can attend one of the four camps listed below with each camp offering a unique curriculum and camp events that will take place in June 2017 as follows:

June 18-24: US Marine Corps Camp, Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC
June 26-July 2: US Air Force Academy Camp, Colorado Springs, CO
June 11-17: US Army Camp, Vicksburg, MS
June 4-9: Exploring Engineering Academy, Atlanta, GA

If you know of a high school student who may be interested in participating in the camp experience, please give them the attached application and have them send their completed application to Ms. Deb Chiaraluna, SAME Pittsburgh Post STEM Committee Chair (412-651-0047), via email (deb.chiaraluna@testamericainc.com) no later than 7 March 2017.
