About the Workshop

This one-day workshop in the heart of Washington, D.C., will provide an unparalleled opportunity to learn specifically about U.S. government project opportunities in countries internationally. Many events include one session about work overseas. This is an entire day of content. And because the workshop agenda is being developed by the Department of State, it is sure to include knowledgeable experts from the federal government who can provide valuable information and insight into supporting U.S. work overseas.

The  Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) directs the worldwide overseas building program for the Department of State and the U.S. Government community serving abroad. In concert with other State Department bureaus, foreign affairs agencies, and Congress, OBO sets worldwide priorities for the design, construction, acquisition, maintenance, use, and sale of real properties and the use of sales proceeds.

The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) ensures that all legislatively specified categories of small businesses in prime contracts and subcontracts are effectively utilized to the maximum extent possible. OSDBU champions U.S. small business interests in the State Department's acquisition process and provide to the small business community training and counseling in order to expand the base of small business firms selling to the department.

The Department of State is developing the program content and arranging the workshop briefers. The SAME National Office is hosting the event and working with the SAME International Committee to include additional agencies and training content for attendees.

Working overseas is an untapped market for many companies that do business in the federal sector to help support U.S. interests and strategic objectives abroad. But there is a lot to learn!  Attend the one-day International Business Opportunities Workshop, hosted by SAME and presented in conjunction with the Department of State, and position your company for success…globally.
