Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification is a growing field of importance within the A/E/C community. To help our members reach their full potential within the LEED framework, SAME is presenting a series of LEED for DOD Projects Workshops. The workshop will provide you with the service-specific knowledge needed to meet LEED requirements on new construction and major renovations for the uniformed services in a cost-effective manner.
A balanced combination of instructional material, speaker-facilitated discussion and small group activities, will teach attendees the unique LEED policies of each uniformed service, decode the requirements for LEED-equivalency, clarify the process and documentation requirements of the services, and demonstrate how to use LEED and the LEED rating system as a metric for guiding sustainable design efforts.
This important workshop will be led by Nadja Turek, P.E., LEED AP [Click for bio]. Ms. Turek is the lead sustainable design engineer for Woolpert Inc. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in Civil Engineering and received her Masters degree in Environmental Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. She is an active member of the SAME Kittyhawk Post.
Registration for this event is separate from the IFMA event.
