SAME is proud to be a supporter of MATHCOUNTS, a national competition that promotes middle school mathematics achievement.

Students participate in exciting math competitions that challenge students’ math skills, develop self-confidence and rewards achievement.

The program involves more than 17,000 volunteers (teachers, engineers, other professionals, parents and alumni) who participate annually to coach students and conduct competitions and it has received two White House Citations as an outstanding private sector initiative.

SAME Support and Help

Although more volunteers are needed at the school level to coach school programs, promote school participation or make school presentations about math in the real world, it is the more than 600 volunteer state and local coordinators who provide the critical administrative support on behalf of the MATHCOUNTS Foundation.

mathcounts4 MATHCOUNTS works closely with its volunteer coordinators to support local program administration and provide step-by-step instructions and materials for a broad range of activities including school materials distribution, competition arrangement, fundraising and public relations.
