Mission Statement

The Society of American Military Engineers Young Members Council, a national mission council, was created to support programming for SAME's Young Members (age 35 or younger) at the local chapter (Post) level.

The Council's mission is to provide guidance and professional development resources to Posts and Young Members, to facilitate participation in Society events and activities at the national and local levels, and to develop and enhance the Young Members' “networking” relationship.

You will find a repository of information for Young Members on these Young Member Council Web pages. They are organized under these headings: Communications and Mentoring & Recognition. The information you will find is designed to serve as a resource to help Young Members in Posts share information, plan Post activities and events geared toward Young Members and to engage Young Members in The Society's recognition and leadership opportunities.

Over the coming months, we also will be posting new information on these pages, so bookmark this page and check back often.

In addition, the Council seeks your input. We're always looking for ideas for social events or programs geared toward Young Members. Share your ideas with us, and don't forget to send us your Post Young Member Member Highlights, outstanding Young Members bios, and photos (in .jpg format, at 72 dpi, please).
