PURPOSE: The purpose of the International Committee is to provide a value-added network, bringing together public and private sector business, technical and management expertise to address worldwide issues. Accordingly, it shall serve as a focal point to facilitate the following:

• Respond to the growing need worldwide for solutions to problems facing the world community that include Worldwide Environmental Cleanup and Protection; Worldwide Infrastructure Upgrades; Worldwide Cold-War Demobilization and Conversion
• Develop and implement a plan, in concert with the Young Member Affairs Committee, for involving Young Members in International Action Committee (IntAC) activities.
• In partnership with the Environmental Affairs Committee support the growth and effectiveness of the Department of Defense's "Environmental Security" international initiatives.
• Establish IntAC Liaison with local SAME Posts and with other SAME Standing Committees.
• Produce Regular Columns in The Military Engineer.
• Publish International Networking Guides for Regional and Topical Issues.
• Establish Cooperative Dialogue with Other Nations' SAME Counterpart Organizations.
• Participate in International Workshops and Trade Fairs.
• Plan of Action based upon a strategy that leverages the international capabilities of SAME, to include working with federal government and private industry entities overseas and the experience/capabilities of other SAME national committees in the international business environment.
