Facility Asset Management Committee 
Mission StatementImprove the efficient, effective, and sustainable stewardship of federal facilities through research and advocacy of facility asset management best practices, fostering facility management educational and professional development opportunities, and addressing current and future facility management issues. Welcome Message from the Chairman Welcome to the Facility Asset Management (FAM) Committee of the Society of American Military Engineers. Initiated in 2005, the committee has matured to include a growing partnership with IFMA (The International Facility Management Association); recurring sponsorships of annual facility management forums and educational tracks at SAME and IFMA conferences; as an information source of facility and asset management resources and events; and as of May 2010, the sponsoring committee for the SAME Sustainability Sub-Committee. The incorporation of the Sustainability Sub-Committee into the FAM Committee also initiated the committee’s name change from Facility Management (FM) to Facility Asset Management (FAM) to emphasize a wider topic focus across the committee. Our intent is to provide an information resource on facility and asset management topics of interest to our members. To support our members we will provide information and reference links on the website; continue to look for meaningful industry partnerships; offer quarterly web-based meetings/conference calls; Sustainability Sub-Committee activities; encourage our membership to submit FAM articles to professional publications; provide distribution emails on upcoming FAM related events and training opportunities; and provide an avenue for networking between members. Our committee organization includes six targeted areas: Sustainability Sub-Committee Chair I am pleased to be the current SAME FAM Committee Chair and invite you to join me and the Vice-Chairs in building on previous committee efforts and successes.
