The SAME Tudor Medal is named in honor of Ralph A. Tudor, Civil Engineer and Builder. The medal was first awarded in 1966.
In 2003, the SAME Engineering and Mentoring Fund pledged a stipend to the recipient of the Tudor Medal to defray up to $1,000 of the cost of the winner attending the National Conference to receive the award.
Eligibility: A Civilian member of SAME who has not passed his/her 36th birthday in the year for which nominated and who was a member of SAME prior to nomination.

Nomination Criteria: The following criteria will be used in judging nominations:
- Outstanding contributions to engineering, design, construction, research & development, or planning for the past three years;
- Demonstrated leadership in managing projects or organizations;
- Receipt of awards or other recognition for professionalism, leadership and/or community service.
Nomination Process: Nominations for this award must be made by a Society member and endorsed by a Post President or member of the National Board of Direction, using the Society nomination form. The Post President or member of the National Board of Direction endorsing the nomination will verify that the individual meets the eligibility criteria for the award, and that the nomination package provides information to support each of the nomination criteria and all required information on the nominee. The nominator is responsible for ensuring the package, with endorsement, is received at SAME HQ on or before February 2.
