The SAME Nominations Committee has put forth a slate of candidates that best exemplifies the diverse leadership skills needed for the coming years. The voting is non-competitive in that individuals are not running against each other. However voting remains an integral part of SAME’s governance process. Voting provides information to SAME members on the individuals who have volunteered their time to lead SAME at the national level; in return SAME members show their support of the individuals selected to be volunteer leaders. As with citizenship, being a member of an organization brings with it the responsibility to support the leadership of the organization—voting for the slate demonstrates that support.
Votes must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. [EDT] on Monday, April 1, 2013. Voting is restricted to SAME Members Only. Please note: Members with more than one Membership have only one vote in SAME elections as an SAME Member.

The SAME Board of Direction will be installed at the Board meeting on Tuesday, May 21. Board Members will be on-site at the Joint Engineer Training Conference & Expo (JETC) taking place May 21-24, 2013, at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, Calif. The Passing of the Gavel from the Outgoing President Anthony F. "Tony" Leketa, P.E., F.SAME, SES (Ret.), Parsons, to Incoming President Rear Adm. Gary A. Engle, P.E., DBIA, F.SAME, USN (Ret.), URS Corp., will take place the morning of Thursday, May 23, at the conclusion of the Post Awards Breakfast. The incoming President will give his inaugural address at the Society Ball on Thursday evening.
