Purpose:
In accordance with Article VI of the SAME bylaws, the Executive Director may establish a Senior Executive Group (SEG) to discuss topics of interest to SAME. The SEG will normally meet twice a year at locations determined by the Executive Director. The purpose of this group is to discuss topics of mutual interest to SAME and the environmental, architecture, engineering and construction communities. The SEG shall consist of approximately 20 presidents or chief executive officers of SAME Sustaining Member Companies or subordinate divisions thereof. The senior engineering chiefs of the uniformed services, or their designated representatives, will be invited to the SEG meetings to participate in the discussions in their official capacities without regard to their membership in SAME.
Industry Nominations and Appointments:
Sustaining Member Company presidents and CEOs may be appointed by the SAME Executive Director upon receipt of a letter of interest. The Executive Director will respond to the request and notify the engineering service chiefs as new members are appointed. Private-sector members normally serve two-year terms, but may be extended by the Executive Director.
Meetings:
The SEG will normally meet in the spring in the Washington, D.C., area. The fall meeting will normally be held at one of the SAME Regional Conferences. The meetings present an opportunity for frank discussion of issues related to improving the delivery of engineering products and services. Issues are solicited from the membership and discussed openly in the forum. The meeting is not recorded. The intent is to educate the engineering services chiefs on challenges facing industry in delivering products and services to the uniformed services.
The SAME point of contact for the SEG is SAME Executive Director Dr. Bob Wolff, P.E., F.SAME. He can be reached at 703-549-3800 ext. 110 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
