The mission of the Architectural Practice Committee is to promote architectural practice within SAME, broaden the organization’s exposure in the architectural community, and recruit more architects, along with expanding networking and mentoring opportunities.
Welcome to the Architectural Practice Committee of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).
The SAME Executive Committee approved the establishment of the new Architectural Practice Committee, effective Nov. 16, 2012. It is my honor and privilege to serve as your committee’s first chair. The committee is an outgrowth of an architectural group which was formed in October 2012 with prior recipients of the SAME national Urbahn Medal which is awarded annually to one SAME architect for his or her eminent and notable contribution in the field of architecture. The Urbahn Medal group will serve as the advisory board for the national Architectural Practice Committee.
Our intent is to promote architectural practice within SAME, broaden the organization’s exposure in the architectural community, and recruit more architects, along with expanding networking and mentoring opportunities.
The committee is organized into four focus areas:
SAME Architecture Practice Committee leadership invite you to join us to build a successful committee in the coming years to best serve SAME architects. If you have any suggestions or input, or would like to be included on committee event notices, please do not hesitate to contact any of the committee officers.
Sincerely,
JJ Tang, AIA, LEED AP
