Welcome to the Facility Asset Management (FAM) Committee of the Society of American Military Engineers.
Initiated in 2005, the committee includes a growing partnership with IFMA (The International Facility Management Association) and recurring sponsorships of annual facility management forums and educational tracks at SAME and IFMA conferences. The committee is a source of facility and asset management information, resources and events, and as of May 2010, it is also the sponsoring committee for the SAME Sustainability Sub-Committee.
Our intent is to provide an information resource on facility and asset management topics of interest to our members. To support our members, we will provide information and reference links on the website, continue to look for meaningful industry partnerships, offer quarterly web-based meetings/conference calls and Sustainability Sub-Committee activities, encourage our membership to submit FAM articles to professional publications, provide distribution emails on upcoming FAM related events and training opportunities, and provide an avenue for networking between members.
Our committee organization includes seven targeted areas:
Vice-Chair for SAME-IFMA FM Workshop
Vice-Chair for Communications
Vice-Chair for Training and Education
Vice-Chair for Professional Certifications and Partnerships
Vice-Chair for BIM FM Working Group
SAME-JETC Installation Management Track Chair
Vice-Chair for Sustainment Management Systems (SMS)
I am pleased to be the current SAME FAM Committee Chair and invite you to join me and the Vice-Chairs in building on previous committee efforts and successes.
We welcome your inputs and questions. If you have suggestions, or would like to be included on committee event notices, please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the committee officers.
