Join this webinar to learn about the recent changes in Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 4-010-01 and become familiar with what AT/FP consultants and/or reviewers see as critical to the design of compliant buildings.

The Department of Defense (DOD) Antiterrorism/Force Protection Document (UFC 4-010-01) is a design criteria required to be considered on all DOD facilities.  The standards made a big change to blast design and standoff distances in the latest version. This webinar will provide additional detail as to what these changes mean to you. The presenters will also discuss case studies and some pitfalls other design professionals have missed. Mark P. Gardner, P.E., Blast Security Consultant, Managing Engineer, Hinman

Mark has 14 years demonstrated experience in blast analysis, structural design, progressive collapse analysis, and physical security design.  As a Managing Engineer at Hinman, he has provided blast consulting services and analysis on new and existing building structures.  He has worked with a wide range of private and federal agencies including the Department of Defense, General Services Administration, and Veterans Affairs, with domestic and international projects. Mark holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (Structures) from Pennsylvania State University. Mark is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia.

Jeffrey Nielsen, P.E., Antiterrorism Standards Engineer, Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC)

Jeffrey is currently stationed at AFCEC where since Aug 2006 he has been the Air Force engineering subject matter expert for Antiterrorism (AT) construction, contingency construction, and small arms ranges.  He is responsible for Air Force and joint construction criteria totaling 19 current documents.  He is heavily involved in the expeditionary reach back support for AT problems in the field. He is the AF representative to the joint Security Engineering Working Group (SEWG).   Jeffrey brings over 28 years of professional engineering experience to the AT and construction field.  He is a graduate of the University of Maine, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.  He also holds a profession engineering license from the State of Oregon.
