On Feb. 2, 2012, the SAME Stuttgart Field Post hosted an Engineering Luncheon at the Patch Swabian Special Event Center, Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany. The Stuttgart Field Post operates under the SAME Rhein-Main Post in Frankfurt, Germany.
Guests speakers included Col. Peter D. Helmlinger, District Commander, United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Europe District and Gary Lopez, USACE. An information session and update was provided on the design and construction of the future Landstuhl Hospital. The current Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) in Landstuhl, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, is the largest American military hospital outside the United States.
The event had a successful turnout, with a total of 33 attendees including representatives from the United States European Command (EUCOM), United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), USACE, United States Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) and TM Stuttgart.
Capt. Greg Zielinski, P.E., Chief Engineer, CEC, USN, EUCOM, spearheaded the event as Stuttgart Field Post's Event Chair. "This is a terrific start of the year for the SAME Stuttgart Field Post!" exclaimed Sandra Zettersten, SAME Rhein Main Post President, Client Service Director, Buchart-Horn, Inc.
