Emerging Leaders Alliance Criteria (ELA) Selection Information

For the third year, SAME is providing the opportunity for eight Young Members (aged 39 and under) to attend the Emerging Leaders Alliance (ELA) Conference taking place November 10-12, 2014, in Reston, Va.

The ELA Conference is a three-day, multi-disciplinary leadership training conference for select professionals in the engineering, research and science industry, promoting the development of great leaders to guide our professions in addressing the needs of people in the 21st century (www.emergingleadersalliance.org).

Registration fees and three nights in the conference hotel will be covered for SAME Young Members who are accepted into the program and sponsored by the SAME Academy of Fellows; other travel expenses will need to be covered by the attendee’s command or firm, or by their local Post.

Nomination Process: Each SAME Post may nominate one Young Member for consideration. Post nominations will be reviewed by that Post’s RVP who will, in turn, select one nominee to represent his/her region. RVP nominees (up to 16) will then be reviewed by a panel of Fellows, from which eight finalists will be selected to attend the ELA Conference.

Application Process: RVPs must ensure their nominees' applications are submitted to SAME HQ no later than July 9, 2014, using the online form at www.same.org/stipends. Interested candidates should inquire with their RVPs as to the process and deadline to submit applications to support the July 9 RVP submittal deadline.
