Important Streamer Requirement Update: 

Some of the elements of the 2012 Leadership and Mentoring Streamer are:

• Send a Post Board member to a Post Leaders Workshop. This is a required element.
• Send a Young Member or NCO to a Post Leaders Workshop. This is not a requirement but a desired element.

What is the Post Leaders Workshop?

• SAME offers two Post Leaders Workshops each year.
• These workshops are organized by the SAME Executive Director and HQ Staff to provide Post Leaders with information on best practices and the National Strategic Plan and Goals. Attendees will have the opportunity to share ideas for achieving the goals set forth in the SAME Strategic Plan.
• The workshops also provide Young Members a unique opportunity to work with Post Leaders as well as the National Leadership.
• The SAME President, 1st VP, Regional Vice Presidents and National Committee Chairs are invited to participate at each workshop.

Who should register as HQ Sponsored?

• Review the tracking Sheet above to check your Post's attendance at the Winter 2011 Post Leaders Workshop, held in Las Vegas, Nevada
• If your Post has not yet sent their Board Member and/or Young Member, register as HQ Sponsored and receive the following:
  • 2 nights lodging at Workshop hotel
  • Meals during workshop
  • Reception
  • SAME Shirt
  • Workshop Materials

Who should register as Post Sponsored?

• If your Post has already sent a Board and/or Young member to a workshop during this calendar year, additional Post Board Members are welcome to attend for a fee and if space available The $500 registration fee will cover: 
  • 2 nights lodging at Workshop hotel
  • Meals during workshop 
  • Reception
  • SAME Shirt
  • Workshop Materials
• Posts MUST verify SPACE AVAILABLE by contacting Diana Dawkins, ddawkins@same.org or 703.549.3800 ext 120
• There will be a registration fee of $500 for Post Sponsored Attendees

Which Posts can request a stipend?

• Small Posts can request a stipend for travel costs up to $300. The $300 maximum stipend is available to small Post attendees within the United States including the District of Columbia and the non-contiguous states of Alaska and Hawaii.
• Posts outside of the United States may request a stipend for travel costs up to $500 for Post attendees.
• You must request this subsidy by sending an e-mail to Diana Dawkins at ddawkins@same.org
