
The SAME Continuing Education Program (CEP) is a collection of educational workshops geared towards architects and engineers, construction and project managers, designers, contractors, and contracting professionals working with the Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal agencies.
This workshop is designed to assist facility professionals seeking certification with preparation for the competency-based examination. Instructors for the course are Certified Facility Managers® who have years of facility management experience and can inspire participants' confidence in their ability to successfully complete the exam, earning the distinction and privilege of being a CFM.

The two-day Best Value Source Selection for DOD Projects workshop will help contracting and project management personnel plan and execute an effective and efficient Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 15.3 best value source selection from start to finish. The workshop covers acquisition planning, market research, development of technical evaluation factors, subfactors and standards, and RFP structure. It also covers the proposal evaluation process, exchanges with offers, debriefings and protest avoidance and concludes with a segment on lessons learned from past source selections.

Fifteen percent of the buildings owned by the federal government and military services are required to meet the guidelines for High Performance Sustainable Buildings. This course gives facility managers, designers and facility engineers the tools needed to asses and implement sustainability and energy improvements to their facilities. The course uses the well-developed Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Building rating system as a framework for applying overall building sustainability.
