The SAME FAM Committee held their quarterly conference call/web committee meeting on 17 Oct., 2013. The meeting started with a 50 minute webinar on "Facilities Capital Planning and Asset Management" by Lawrence Norve, V.P., Professional Services, and Craig Ott, V.P., Federal Sales - VFA. The slides for the webinar can be accessed by clicking on the FAM Committee Quarterly Meeting - 17 Oct 2013 title above.

In conjunction with The Infrastructure Security Partnership (TISP), the SAME FAM Committee's next quarterly conference call/ web meeting is planned for Thursday, December 12th from 2:00 -3:00 pm Eastern Time.
We will start with a 50 minute webinar on Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Cybersecurity by Michael Chipley, The PMC Group LLC and Daryl Haegley, OSD (AT&L), and we will be offering 1 PDH for your participation.
A very brief committee meeting will follow the presentation.
The Department of Defense (DoD) is one of the largest owners of real estate, buildings, and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in the United States. The DoD has over 300,000 buildings, over 250,00 linear structures, and an estimated 2.5 million plus unique ICS systems. Typical of other ICS owner/operators, the DoD ICS systems have become potential cyber targets and the DoD has undertaken a number of efforts to further secure both the traditional IT and ICS systems. This webinar will provide an overview of a number of efforts underway with DoD and in conjunction with other federal and private sector partners, and lay out the next steps to ensure cybersecurity of DoD ICS systems.
Daryl Haegley is a Program Manager in the Department of Defense Installations and Environment Business Enterprise Integration office. He manages the Enterprise Energy Information Management and Cybersecurity efforts, liaisons with other federal agencies on ICS issues, and was the chair of the DoD ICS TWG. In just over one year, he led the development of the ICS Overlay, and has been instrumental in helping government and industry collaborate on securing ICS systems.
Michael Chipley is a consultant providing subject matter expert support to the Department of Defense Installations and Environment Business Enterprise Integration office on policy, standards, tools development, and cybersecurity. He is the lead author of the ICS Overlay, drawing on the expertise of over 65 other SME's from the DoD, DHS, and government Agencies; coordinates with DHS on the development of the Cybersecurity Evaluation Tool, and the DoD liaison to NIST on the SO 800-82 ICS Security Guide.

Welcome to the Facility Asset Management (FAM) Committee of the Society of American Military Engineers.
Initiated in 2005, the committee includes a growing partnership with IFMA (The International Facility Management Association) and recurring sponsorships of annual facility management forums and educational tracks at SAME and IFMA conferences. The committee is a source of facility and asset management information, resources and events, and as of May 2010, it is also the sponsoring committee for the SAME Sustainability Sub-Committee.
Our intent is to provide an information resource on facility and asset management topics of interest to our members. To support our members, we will provide information and reference links on the website, continue to look for meaningful industry partnerships, offer quarterly web-based meetings/conference calls and Sustainability Sub-Committee activities, encourage our membership to submit FAM articles to professional publications, provide distribution emails on upcoming FAM related events and training opportunities, and provide an avenue for networking between members.
