About the Engineering Service Roles in The Society
The Engineering Service Chiefs of the five uniformed services- Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast
Guard and U.S. Public Health Service - annually brief SAME members on upcoming federal engineering programs
and construction projects, and share their perspectives and priorities. These briefings traditionally occur
shortly after the federal budget is submitted to Congress.
Every March, SAME hosts an exclusive series of briefings for members that feature
presentations from the Engineering Service Chiefs as well as other key officials within the federal government
and the uniformed services.
