Created by our own members to celebrate the Society's Centennial, this timeline takes us along major historic events in Alaska and shines light on the important military role in its development. Mission: Promote advancement of individual technical knowledge and collective engineering capability of local government, uniformed services, private industry, students, and other interested parties.
Vision: Unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.
Means: Monthly General Membership Meetings/Luncheons and other professional/social activities (typically 4th Thursday monthly).

Please join us for an enlightening & informative presentation from SAME Anchorage Post President, Mr. Keith Guyer!
The presentation will look at the triumphs and tribulations of drilling during winter just outside of the Red Dog Mine to install thermistors and monitoring wells. We will briefly go over how the Red Dog Mine operates, its history and importance to Alaska.
Keith is licensed professional Geologist that is semi-retired from a 45+ year career that started with active duty in the Navy, to exploration geophysics to geologic and environmental remediation. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and went to graduate school in California, Utah, and Wyoming.
