About the LDP
The SAME Leader Development Program is a one-year commitment created to help discover and develop members who aspire to advance their leadership skills and grow personally and professionally. LDP participants are provided with the tools for leadership success, including how to apply strengths to real-world problems, training on how to triumph working across numerous roles, assignments that teach how to be an efficient leader, and other independent and group projects that will lead participants to reaching their goals.
To be considered for the LDP you must be a mid-career professional, a member of SAME for at least one year, dedicated to the mission of the Society, and have five years of professional working experience. Senior career professionals, if you know a good LDP candidate, please encourage them to apply.
This dynamic program provides an incredible opportunity to advance as a leader!
Deadline for submissions is December 6, 2021.
I've been serving as a board member since the late 2000s and I don't plan to stop serving. I'd like to lead the post as President some day and achieve the recognition as fellow.
– Ree Miskimon, LDP Class of 2021
Keep mixing it up with military, private, government, young, seasoned, etc. It's so great to hear and learn from such a diverse background of individuals!
-Cdr. Kevin Remley, USPHS, LDP Class of 2021
I hope to continue to move into leadership roles within the Society and to participate in Post, regional and national level events.
-Kristi Gordon, LDP Class of 2021
SAME’s Leader Development Program has been an enriching experience both for my own personal development and for the relationships built between participants and SAME National Staff. It has been great to have a leadership sounding board composed of a myriad of other young leaders across the globe who come from all types of different backgrounds. I am looking forward to a career of attending SAME national conferences and reuniting with my fellow LDP Class alumnae for years to come!
-Ben Nichols, LDP Class of 2020
