The Central Virginia Post is dedicated to the health and safety of all its members and event participants. In response to emerging public health concerns posed by COVID-19, we are closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding the situation and will continue to do so. We will be updating our members regarding event cancellations and rescheduling as those decisions are made. Please monitor our meetings and events calendar for updates.

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the premier professional military engineering association in the United States, unites architecture, engineering, construction (A/E/C), facility management and environmental entities and individuals in the public and private sectors to prepare for—and overcome—natural and man-made disasters, and to improve security at home and abroad.  Headquartered in Alexandria, VA, SAME provides its more than 27,000 members extensive opportunities for training, education and professional development through a robust offering of conferences, workshops, networking events and publications. With a membership that includes recent service academy graduates and retired flag officers, project managers and corporate executives, Department of Defense civilians, private-sector experts and everyone in between, SAME is bridging the gaps between critical stakeholders to advance the field of military engineering and help secure our nation.

The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.  Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.

The Central Virginia Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties.

The Central Virginia Post was proud to accept the 2018 Top Medium Post Award at the 2019 JETC Awards Luncheon. We attribute the success of our Post entirely to our individual members and sustaining member companies. In 2018, we: hosted 10 PDH hours; provided a $500 scholarship to NVA STEM; provided more than 25 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to Petersburg Public Schools; contributed $4,000 to the ARGS robotics team; and made a large donation of patient comfort items to the Richmond VA Medical Center.
