STAY CONNECTED

The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.

Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.

The Chesapeake Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter. We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Chesapeake Post membership.

One of the more educational, fast-paced, high-energy and thought-provoking webinars you will attend. Guaranteed. Does this sound familiar? “Hi, we’re an 8a, VOSB, or WOSB that provides. . .” Small business offices, your mentors, your colleagues, and the various non-profits funded by DoD and your local community all tell you to, “Put it front and center! There are federally mandated set-asides for your company! Large companies require sub-contracting plans for companies just like yours!”  We’ve all purchased the same business books, attended the same webinars, attended conference training sessions, and your mentors have all given the same advice - “Use your status!”

Do large companies say, “Hi, we’re a large business that provides. . .” No. Of course not. So why do you? You need to think like a business that provides value rather than a company with a socio-economic status. You do NOT win contracts because of your status. Your status is nothing more than a balancing differentiator, which we’ll discuss during the webinar.

You will be taught real-world techniques, strategies, and examples on how to “softly” communicate your status, differentiate from the competition, and facilitate a perception of corporate maturity. You will learn methods to communicating quantifiable and qualifiable metrics that focus on the value of your solutions. You will also receive a step-by-step process on introducing yourself and your company at conferences, with partners and with government decision makers, what to do during government meetings and how and when to properly communicate your socio-economic status.

Who Should Attend:

  • 8a

  • WOSB

  • VOSB

  • SDVOSB

  • ANC

  • HUBZone Certified

Objectives:

  • Understand how to position and differentiate your company

  • Focus on your value and not your status

  • Realign your expectations and greatly improve your positioning in the market
