Welcome to the Society of American Military Engineers Frontier Post website. The Mission of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is to bring together professionals in engineering and engineering-related fields worldwide, to increase our national engineering capabilities through the exchange of information and promoting emerging technologies, applications and practices.
The Frontier Post, based in Cheyenne, WY includes local military engineers, private contractors, consultants, and engineers. Our monthly meetings and post activities promote an atmosphere in which members are able to freely exchange information on current industry issues and trends. Additionally, our monthly meetings include informative presentations on a variety of engineering and construction related topics.

11:30 – 12:30: Presentation and Meeting w/Board Meeting to Follow
Event Description: Mr. Dale Steenbergen, President, and CEO of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Mr. Steenbergen has been tirelessly working with government contractors over the past few years to prepare Cheyenne, Wyoming for the US Air Force’s (USAF) Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD). This contract, recently awarded to Northrop Grumman, will require thousands of personnel and contractors to construct the weapon system replacement for the aging LGM-30 Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile system (ICBM). While this replacement is going to occur at three separate bases, F.E. Warren was the first selected with construction beginning in 2023. Mr. Steenbergen will provide an update on the contract status, what steps the Chamber and the City of Cheyenne are taking to prepare for the influx of personnel and contractors, and how his team is preparing local contractors and small businesses to work with Northrop Grumman and the USAF.
