By sameadmin

Dear SAME Supporter,

We are pleased to announce our annual SAME Golf Scramble will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 1200 hours at the Cole Park Golf Course, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The Campbell Chapter of the Society of American Military Engineers has chosen to use this golf outing as our primary fund raising effort.   Corporate contributions given as sponsorship will be utilized to support scholarships for students that have chosen engineering or related fields of study during their college experience.  We have enclosed a program indicating varying levels of sponsorship for your evaluation.  Please consider giving to this worthwhile endeavor.

Your entry fee and / or corporate sponsorship should be received by August 14, 2015 to:

Society of American Military Engineers
Attn:  Tavis Hanley
P. O. Box  811
Fort Campbell, Kentucky 42223

Additionally, we ask that you email the names of players to tavis.b.hanley@usace.army.mil at the earliest possible date.  We will have light hors d’oeuvres in the upper level of the Commons following play.

Best Regards,

Tavis Hanley and Ted Reece

The SAME Nashville & Campbell Posts
Welcome You to Music City USA!

By now I hope that you have 26-28 August on your calendar for the SAME South Central/South Atlantic Joint Engineer Training Symposium (JETS) in Nashville, Tennessee.  Our webpage is www.regonline.com/same2015. Some highlights of our JETS include:

  • Fantastic interaction opportunities with USACE personnel. All USACE Districts in the South Atlantic, South Central, and Carolinas will be represented along with Louisville and maybe a few others from the Great Lakes Region.
  • 1st opportunity of the year to hear the 2016 USACE District Forecast in our region.  Hear and see both design and construction opportunities.
  • Outstanding Technical Tracts including the focus on Energy Infrastructure
  • 21 hours of Networking Opportunities outside of technical sessions interaction including;
    • Golf Scramble, Ice Breaker, Young Member event, Downtown Honkey Tonk Crawl, 2 Networking Breakfasts, Lunch with Craig Morgan and multiple Breaks
    • Interact with government personnel, large & small business, engineers, architects, planners, contractors and maybe even a few country music entertainers…

Personally, I am extremely excited about the energy presentations concentrating on Oak Ridge National Laboratories just east of us and the latest focus on the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) / Y-12 National Security Complex.

Deadlines Approaching!

  • Early bird registration deadline is 25 July; price for members and non-members goes up $100 respectively beginning 26 July. (member $499, non-member $599 through 25 July)
  • Cut-off date for Opryland reservations in the room block is 3 August. While we have added some rooms, there may still be an issue with Tuesday or Wednesday. If anyone has problems with their reservations, please contact Pat Swartz (850.566.0089) and she will help you.
  • Opryland is full except for the rooms that we have blocked for our attendees.  If you don’t make reservations before 3 August, there is a good possibility that you will not be able to stay at our host hotel and you will not receive our room rate.
  • There are still sponsorship and exhibit opportunities!  Exhibitor kit can be found on the registration site at www.regonline.com/same2015 under the Sponsors/Exhibitors tab.
