Webinar Description: 
This presentation will discuss wildfire effects to U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) flood risk management and emergency management missions and demonstrate recently developed USACE modeling capabilities for predicting post-wildfire flood risk. This R&D is focused on better understanding and predicting post-wildfire flood and debris flow events. This research is conducted in partnership with the USACE Institute for Water Resources, Hydrologic Engineering Center (IWR-HEC), and with all districts within both USACE South Pacific Division (USACE-SPD) and USACE Northwest Division (USACE-NWD). With the goal of developing, (a) fast but reliable methods to assess post-wildfire flood risk, and (b) quantitative methods to predict changes in stream flow and sediment runoff processes following wildfires for planning and designing of flood and debris flow control measures.
