STEM Explorer Post

The Explorer Post specializes in engineering for young women and men ages 14 to 22. Operating under the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life Program, youth explore careers in structural engineering, architecture, hydrology, geology, mechanical engineering and computer engineering. America’s youth are the future of our nation, and introducing our brightest and most capable young women and men to careers in engineering helps assure America’s greatness for future generations.

Each year the Denver Metro Post offers scholarships to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who meet the following requirements:

  • High school students must be intending to enroll in an engineering or an engineering related curriculum at a four-year college or university. The student must be sponsored by a SAME Denver Metro Post (DMP) member in good standing.

  • Current college students must either be children of a current SAME Denver Post member or currently enrolled in an ROTC program. These applicants must also be pursuing a degree program in engineering or an engineering related curriculum.

*For children of SAME members, some preference will be given to students attending or planning to attend Front Range schools, but this is not a requirement.

Check back often for announcements as to when applications will be taken for the next round of scholarships.

The Society of American Military Engineers, in collaboration with the Military Services, offers a series of engineering/STEM camps designed for High School students who excel in math, science and technology courses and are interested in pursuing engineering, architecture, or a related field in college..
