SAME - Gem State Post Awards Scholarships to US Air Force Academy STEM Camp

The Gem State Post is proud to award these scholarships to Noah Gluck and Joshua Fernando.

Noah Gluck will be a junior this fall at Timberline High School (Boise) and maintains a 3.8 GPA. His interests include wrestling, baseball, composing music, jazz trombone, and building all sorts off cool stuff. He applied to USAFA Camp to gain experience at team work and be inspired from experienced builders and engineers. He also is very interested in learning more about becoming a pilot.

Joshua Fernando will be a sophomore this fall at Eagle High School (Eagle) and maintains a 3.85 GPA. He is the Vice President of the Eagle High School Technology Student Association, member of the Debate Team, and is a Cadet Senior Master Sergeant with the Civil Air Patrol Air Force Auxiliary. He enjoys fishing, flying drones, and model airplanes. He applied to attend the USAFA Camp because he aspires to one day attend the USAFA and study robotics engineering.

The USAFA STEM Engineering & Construction Camp is held June 26 - July 2, 2018. This is a week long, live-in STEM camp, with full immersion in engineering and STEM activities. The USAFA provides world class facilities for this program. Campers work as teams of 12 to complete engineering tasks in a competitive environment. Campers are supervised, mentored, coached, lead and guided by young STEM professionals and college students in a STEM major, 24/7.

SAME has been supporting STEM events for over 30 years and conducting STEM Engineering & Construction Camps for almost 20 years. Our STEM camps are world-class and feature a very impressive record of producing thousands of engineers and STEM graduates. Our camps generally feature hands-on activities, conducted in a competitive environment, promoting teamwork, leadership, project management, and problem solving.
