The charter of the education committee is to actively pursue the educational aspects of the engineering profession, with emphasis on mentoring, student scholarships and continued professional development of its membership. On this webpage, we focus on student scholarships and science fair awards, all of which are designed to encourage the next generation to pursue rewarding careers in engineering, science, and architecture.
It is the intent of the Kittyhawk Post to grant scholarships annually to encourage students in the Post’s region (Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky) to pursue careers in fields related to the Society’s mission (engineering, architecture, construction, facilities management and environmental management/science). The program is designed to cover all levels of post-high-school education to include associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees. The number and value of scholarships awarded may vary from year to year, see more information by clicking the link below.

Science Fair Judging:
One of the K-12 Outreach committee’s main focus areas is support the local schools in education and specifically in technical disciplines. A way we accomplish this is providing judges for science fairs. Judges are a critical component of this building block toward a technical education. From designing hybrid materials to studying the biological remediation of environmental problems using plants; you’ll be amazed at the projects these young develop.
