Engineering & Construction Camps for Local High School Students

he Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Rock Island Post is the proud sponsor of up to three Engineering and Construction Summer Camps designed to provide qualified high school students with hands-on experience in the field. Our goal is to promote engineering excellence and increased awareness among local high school students. The SAME Rock Island Post will pay the full tuition and airfare for up to three students who best fit the selection criteria. This is an opportunity for exceptional local students to meet similarly interested and talented youth from around the world.

This year the camps are held at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) near Colorado Springs, Colorado and at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina (Marine Corps). The respective dates of the camps are June 26 - July 2 and June 22-28, 2014.

The application submission deadline to the Rock Island Post for the USAFA Camp and the Marine Corps Camp is March 21, 2014. See the SAME national website for applications and the most current information about the SAME summer camps, including photos from previous camps.
