The Washington State Emergency Management Division (EMD) leads and coordinates mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery in Washington state to minimize the impacts of disasters and emergencies on the people, property, environment, and the economy. Initiatives around operational logistics, mutual aid, contracting with the State Enterprise will be the main topic area. Information will be provided on Pre-Disaster mitigation, Flood mitigation assistance, building resilient infrastructure as well as grant application information on active PDM and FMA projects and how industry is engaged by the grant recipient for these projects will be covered. Mr. Douglas will also speak to how the EMD utilizes industry to get its’ work done for these projects.
