TRS Group - March Luncheon Sustaining Member Spotlight

TRS Group, 100% employee-owned company, is the highest capacity and most experienced thermal treatment provider for in situ and ex situ remediation of soil and groundwater with global partners in Brazil (TRS Doxor), Europe (TRS Europe), and China (Tai-Yan).

TRS offers multiple thermal remediation technologies, including: Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH), Thermal Conduction Heating (TCH), Steam Enhanced Extraction (SEE), and additional combined remedy solutions. TRS partners with our clients to collaborate on selecting the most appropriate technology for their projects.

Technology overview:

·         ERH works equally well in the vadose and saturated zones and is generally more energy efficient than TCH when remediating volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

·         TCH is ideal for remediating VOCs, semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

·         SEE is ideal for LNAPL mobilization, permeable formations, combining with either ERH or TCH.

Additionally, TRS has recently expanded its capabilities to include remediation of PFAS in soil and water. Using the TRS patented and patent-pending FlexHeater TCH elements, TRS can heat soils (in situ or ex situ) to about 400°C with demonstrated removals of 99.998% of PFAS compounds. TRS also offers PFAS water treatment through our German thermal alliance partner, Cornelsen, and their patented PerfluorAd system for applications such as: groundwater, fire suppressant water, landfill leachate, and wastewater. TRS is the exclusive licensee of the PerfluorAd system in North America for treating PFAS in water.
