STEM Engineering & Construction Camps
SAME, in collaboration with the military services, offers a series of week long, STEM Engineering & Construction (E&C) Camps designed for High School students who excel in math, science and technology courses and are interested in pursuing engineering, architecture, or related fields in college. Each camp has a unique curriculum, with the common threads being: challenging environment, all activities are hands-on, young engineer mentors assigned to the teams and providing long term resources for alumni. Information for the 2021 STEM E&C camps will be posted once it is available.
You can find more information about the camps and the application process at http://www.same.org/STEMCAMPS or contact the VPP Summer Camp POC, Mr. Paul Burgener at email@example.com or 757-225-9565.
School Year 2022 Scholarship Information
Greetings! Each year, the Virginia Peninsula Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) awards scholarships to deserving students throughout the state of Virginia, and we're doing it again in 2022!! In 2021, we awarded a total of four scholarships, ranging in value from $800 to $1,000. We will continue our school scholarship program in 2020 by offering scholarships in four categories by grade level: 1) High school seniors, 2) college freshman and sophomores, 3) college juniors and seniors, and 4) graduate students. We feel this ensures we touch all levels of study and provides our younger applicants a chance to re-apply each year as they pursue their education.
The application requirements are straightforward. Just fill out this short application package that includes all of the information regarding the program and what is required to apply. Completed applications must be mailed (postmarked), emailed, or hand-delivered by TBD. Contact information is provided in the application package. Applicants will be notified via email or phone call whether they have won a scholarship. Winners are invited to attend the SAME Virginia Peninsula Post meeting in August 2022 to accept their award in person. If the winner cannot attend the meeting, the scholarship award and check will be mailed via US Postal Service.
Good luck to all who apply! As in the past, we look forward to receiving many quality applications.
