The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.
Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.
The Houston Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter.

This event will be hosted at the Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Field located at 11551 Aerospace Ave Ellington Field Houston, TX 77034.
Our invited guest speaker is LTG Todd Semonite, Commanding General, United States Army Corps of Engineers.
Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite assumed his position as Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on May 19, 2016. As the Chief of Engineers, an Army Staff Principal, he advises the Secretary of the Army and other Principal Officials on matters related to general, combat and geospatial engineering; construction, real property, public infrastructure and natural resources science and management. As the USACE Commanding General, he is responsible for more than 32,000 civilian employees and 700 military personnel who provide project management, construction support and science and engineering expertise in more than 110 countries.
We will also be recognizing our Public Agency members and Sponsor Firms during this annual event.
