Small Business Spotlight Opportunity

In an effort to better acquaint our Post with small business members, time for a Small Business Spotlight has been added to the monthly meeting agenda following the Sustaining Member Spotlight presentation. The Small Business Committee is looking for small business members who would be interested in presenting their business to the membership.

Needs-Based Scholarship applications are due April 1st

The Omaha Post Needs-Based Scholarship shall be offered annually to a graduating high school senior. To the extent possible, preference shall be given to students who have demonstrated financial need. Candidates should be participating in the free and reduced price school meal program.  To the extent possible, preference will also be given to those students participating in the Omaha Post’s Student Mentoring Program or similar Post or school sponsored engineering/architectural activities.  Additionally, the applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Nominated by a teacher
  2. Letter of recommendation must be submitted
  3. Anticipating entering an engineering/architectural program or a related field at any accredited university/college
  4. Minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average
  5. Candidates shall submit a 250 word essay

Mary McKernan

Mary McKernan touched the lives of her co-workers, associates and friends around the industry. She was a long time SAME member and our Omaha Post treasurer. Mary started her career with USACE Omaha before spending 18 years building the federal program at HDR.
