Representatives from the Ohio Valley Region Posts accepted the 2017 National Streamer Awards on behalf of their respective Posts during SAME’s Joint Engineer Training Conference in Kansas City on May 23, 2018.

Cemetery of the Alleghenies

In what is becoming a bi-annual tradition, members of the SAME Pittsburgh Post and sustaining firms volunteered their time at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies, raising flags and cleaning headstones in preparation for the Memorial Day weekend.

 The volunteers included Rob Yauger, Craig Cicconi, Marcia Haberman, Bob Butt, Tom Weber, Terry Rojahn, Joe Senita, Ricky DePaul, Michelle Woeber, Jim Coffman, and Tom Johnston.

It was wonderful to see all of those who attended the 2018 Pittsburgh Post Annual Banquet.  Thank you to our guest speaker, Colonel John Lloyd, Commander USACE Pittsburgh District, for his engaging presentation about rebuilding Puerto Rico and infrastructure and resiliency here in our region.  CLICK HERE for photos from the event.


National Cemetery of the Alleghenies Volunteer Opportunity

As in past years, we are planning to assist the cemetery with cleaning of the headstones and raising of the flags before Memorial Day.  This is currently schedule for the Friday before Memorial Day (May 25th) at 1:00 PM, but may be adjusted in the event of extreme weather.  Contact Rob Yauger for information or questions!


Annual Post Awards

At our annual banquet on May 16, 2018, the Pittsburgh Post intends to present three (3) awards:

-Professional of the Year; Outstanding Project of the Year; and Young Professional of the Year.

Calling All Artists

Help us develop a new design for the SAME Pittsburgh Post challenge coin.  In preparation for the Post's 100-yr anniversary we are looking for your creative ideas, and a design that represents the rich tradition of engineering in southwestern Pennsylvania.  **NOTE the contest is open to SAME Members and employees of Sustaining Member Firms.
