Atlanta, GA – Exploring Engineering Academy

Type: Regional Camp

Location: Georgia Tech Campus, Atlanta, GA

Dates: June 3-8, 2018

Description: The STEM Exploring Engineering Academy is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for 9th-12th graders to live on the Georgia Tech campus and get behind the scenes access to more than 30 Atlanta-area companies.

This Academy covers a variety of STEM topics with a strong emphasis on Engineering by giving students exciting and fun hands-on experiences! Learn how different STEM concepts impact you every day, then experience these principles for yourselves as you build robots, explore different headquarters, and fly through roller coasters.

Additionally, participants get a taste of college life at one of the top engineering and technology schools in the country. During the week at the academy, participants will stay in the dorms at the Georgia Institute of Technology. They will meet students who can give them advice on preparing for college and can learn first-hand what it takes to succeed at one of the nation’s most respected universities.

Colorado Springs, Colorado – Young Women’s STEM Day

Guam – Exploring STEM

Type: Local one day camp

Location: University of Guam

Description: 5th-8th Grade students attend one day STEM camp on two separate tracks (5th-6th and 7th-8th). Students will engage with various STEM concepts in multiple 60-75 minute sessions throughout the day.  2017 Camp Review


Savannah, GA – Savannah Engineering Academy

Type: Regional Camp, Open to students in the Greater Savannah area. 

Location: Armstrong State University, Savannah, GA

Dates: June 15-18, 2018

Description: This Camp is open to students in the greater Savannah area (Chatham, Effingham, Bryan, and Liberty Counties. The mission of the camp is to cultivate future generations of engineers from our local community.” During the five-day summer program for rising junior and senior high school students interested in math, science and engineering hosted at Armstrong State University, students explore engineering through hands-on activities such as building LED flashlights, remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs), and a water filter, field trips such as a riverboat tour of the Savannah River to learn about harbor deepening, river dredging, and local port activity and a visit to a local site development construction project, as well as site visits to facilities including Gulfstream Aerospace, JCB, Skidaway Institute of Oceanography & more. Students work with professional engineers from major engineering disciplines including civil, electrical, computer, aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, water resources, environmental, and ocean. www.savannahengineeringacademy.net
