The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.

Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.

The San Diego Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter. We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME San Diego Post membership.

STEM Engineering & Construction Camp

The Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego Posts are teamed with SAME National and the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) 29 Palms to offer a STEM and Construction Camp.  It has been a few years since we had a STEM Camp in SoCal, and we are very excited for this inaugural Camp to be held on base at 29 Palms.

We are looking for Campers (High School students, 9-12 graders), Mentors (<40 yr. old STEM professional or student), and Sponsors.  The event is this Spring, April 6-8 and will be on base at 29 Palms.  We are finalizing the curriculum, but it may include the following STEM events: concrete beam construction, Engineering Reaction Course, Drone Races and more.

This is a great opportunity to further SAME’s mission to foster the next generation of engineering and construction professionals supporting our military and our country.  Take action to inspire our future engineers and leaders by supporting this Camp!

Where: MCAGCC 29 Palms, CA
When: 6-8 Apr 2018.

This is a three day overnight camp and the cost is just $30, an incredible opportunity and value.  There is no cost for Mentors and we ask they arrive late afternoon on Thursday April 5th.

Please see the flyers for Campers, Mentors and Sponsors more information.

Contact the Camp Director, Jim Carter (jcarter@emaxlabs.com, 310-618-8889 x105), with questions.
