In 2015, the Port of Houston Authority (Port Houston) launched a significant strategic planning effort that culminated in a new mission, vision, strategic goals and objectives, and rebranding. Port Houston made Being an Environmental Leader a strategic objective. In 2016, Port Houston developed an environmental leadership strategy plan that is being implemented in 2017. As we close on the first quarter of 2017, Ms. Oberlin will discuss the activities completed to date and will address the “Challenges of Environmental Leadership” for the Port of Houston Authority.
Leah Oberlin, is the Environmental Affairs Director for the Port of Houston Authority (Port Houston). Port Houston owns, operates and leases the public facilities at the Port of Houston including the general cargo terminals at the Turning Basin and the Barbour’s Cut and Bayport container terminals. Ms. Oberlin is responsible for the leadership of Port Houston’s Environmental Affairs Department and execution of the Port Houston’s Environmental Leadership Plan.
