Presentation: FEMA Blue Roof mission

Organization: USACE Savannah District

The purpose of the Blue Roof Mission is to provide homeowners in disaster areas with fiber-reinforced plastic sheeting to cover their damaged roofs until arrangements can be made for permanent repairs.  This protects property, reduces temporary housing costs, and allows residents to remain in their homes while recovering from the storm.  It is a free service to homeowners, and the Corps is a central player in extending technical expertise and assistance, including scoping, procurement and installation of temporary roofing repairs, and utilizes volunteers from across the Corps.

Anna Stewart graduated from Mercer University as a Mechanical Engineer.  She is a Technical Manager in the A-E Contract Management section at Savannah’s Army Corps of Engineers.  Anna recently completed the two year intern/new graduate program where she rotated among various departments of the District office.  She grew up around Savannah and has really enjoyed coming back and having the chance to get involved with projects that are benefitting the community. Anna is looking forward to expanding her knowledge and exploring all of the opportunities the Corps of Engineers has to offer.

Megan Williams is a Civil Engineer and Chief of the A-E Contract Management section at the Savannah District.  Megan graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served 5 years in the Civil Engineer Corps in Charleston, SC.  She has 25+ years of federal service, including work with NAVFAC, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.  Megan is a former Treasurer of the Savannah SAME chapter, and she and her family returned to Savannah in Jan 2019.
