Join us for an exclusive site visit to the Antioch Brackish Water Desalination Plant, the Bay Area’s first inland desalination facility backed by the California Department of Water Resources.
We are honored to welcome Ron Bernal, Mayor of Antioch, as our special guest.
This $110M project is designed to produce up to 6 million gallons/day of drinking water, reducing reliance on imported Delta supplies and strengthening Antioch’s drought resilience. It represents a milestone in sustainable water infrastructure for the Bay Area.
Beyond its role as a regional milestone, the project offers valuable lessons for our SAME SF community.
This tour will highlight:
- Public–private collaboration in design and delivery
- Integration of civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines
- Lessons learned from design-build execution and interagency partnerships
After the tour, attendees are invited to gather for lunch at Smith’s Landing Seafood Grill on the Antioch waterfront, a chance to connect with colleagues and continue the discussion.
