About the Project: The project is the definition of Architecture but also shifts the idea of what Iconic can be in the form of it’s previous version of a large, structure surrounded by a sea of surface parking that is seen from many different vantage points, to a ballpark that is sunken into the ground, embedded into a broader mixed use, walkable district that now emphasizes iconic to experiential, intimate, and accessible. The design focuses not on the object, but on the experience of the fan, and broader community in a 360 degree activated concourse with different user experiences woven throughout and is a
beautiful reminder that architecture is for people, first and foremost.
Central to the design is the concept of a 360-degree experience, ensuring that every visitor can enjoy the game from any angle. The new design includes seating around the entire field. Key features include a tower and bridge that light up during games, railcar suites, a beer garden, a sky lounge, a home plate bar, a city view lounge, an art and historic walk, a picnic area, and a playground. These elements are thoughtfully integrated to create a dynamic and engaging environment, connecting people to the place and enhancing the sensory experience.
