Warriors’ Ascent

presented by COL (R) Tony Hofmann
COL (R) Tony Hofmann will talk about his experiences as a leader, as the Founder of Team Leadville, and as a huge supporter of Warriors’ Ascent, our Post’s chosen Veteran Support Charity. As a former two-time District Commander, Tony has led in peace and combat, including leading simultaneous disaster recovery operations with the Joplin, MO tornado and Missouri River flooding in 2011. He’s an ultra-marathoner (and author) with the grit and drive to finish 54 marathons (including 15 Boston Marathons) and ultra-marathons (including the Leadville 100).
Eleven years ago, Tony formed Team Leadville, a volunteer group that runs the Leadville Marathon to raise money for Warriors’ Ascent. Leadville is the highest marathon in the US (start at over 10,000 feet and goes up from there) and his team starts and finishes together. To date they’ve raised $578,000, sponsoring and saving the lives of 279 veterans through Warriors’ Ascent. Hear what it takes to organize, lead, support and execute his mission to STOP VETERAN SUICIDE, and catch some interesting and entertaining stories to boot! See you there!
