The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) was founded in 1920 to engage military and federal government engineers with those in private industry.  Today, SAME brings together professional engineers and those in engineering related fields; To improve and increase the engineering capabilities of the nation; To exchange and advance the knowledge of engineering technologies and practices.  SAME is a nonprofit professional engineer association headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia with chapters worldwide.

 

The Panama City Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list, Facebook Event Notifications, and this website. We post a quarterly newsletter showcasing what the post has accomplished and providing information on upcoming events as well.  The Post plays a major role in Bay County, Florida, promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through support to the Florida First LEGO League, MATHCOUNTS, and scholarships for students interested in an engineering or architecture program.  Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Panama City Post membership.

August 11th Luncheon: Join us Wednesday August 11th for our monthly luncheon. Ms. MaryAnne Koos, Special Projects Coordinator for FDOT, will present Changes to the Florida Greenbook, adopted June 2021.   

September 8th Luncheon: Join us Wednesday September 8th for our monthly luncheon. Mr. Andrew Carmean and Dr. Bridgett Ashley of the Air Force will present Light-em Up! A discussion of systems that handle flammable liquid spills on large facility floors such as aircraft hangars and warehouses.   

SAME Tri-Regional JETS, October 12-14: The  SAME Southeastern Tri-Regional Joint Engineer Training Symposium (JETS) will be hosted by the Mobile and Pensacola Posts.  This JETS will include exciting and informative events at the historic Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa on Mobile Bay in Point Clear, AL.  Day 1 starts with a STEM Scholarship Golf Tournament and ends with an evening icebreaker.  The next day and a half will be filled with presentations and technical sessions presented by government and contractor staff.  CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.
