This month’s presentation features HRP Associates, Inc., an environmental consulting and engineering firm with over 40 years of expertise in site investigation and remediation, environmental forensics, EH&S compliance, and hazardous materials management.

HRP will introduce their proprietary, patent-pending Rapid Leaching Technology (RLT), an innovative remediation method designed to extract per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from contaminated soil. RLT mobilizes PFAS from solids into a liquid phase, enabling the cleaned soil to be returned to an excavation, repurposed on-site, or disposed of off-site as beneficial fill.

Benchtop studies show up to 93% total PFAS removal, with up to 100% elimination of PFAS analytes regulated by the USEPA. Compared to traditional Subtitle C landfill disposal, RLT presents a cost-effective alternative, reducing overall soil remediation expenses by an order of magnitude. HRP will also touch on RLT’s viability to disrupt the dredging industry and mitigation of coal-ash.
