Bettendorf’s Gateway Pedestrian Bridge
The SAME Rock Island Post is planning an exciting July 2026 event featuring a visit to Bettendorf’s Gateway Pedestrian Bridge construction site, offering members a unique opportunity to see the project firsthand and learn more about the ongoing work. Join us 7/23 at 3 PM at the east abutment of the Bridge construction site, for a guided construction site walkthrough of the project led by HDR Engineering. We will provide SAME members with a firsthand look at project progress and an opportunity to engage with the design team! The evening will conclude with a social gathering at Iron Tee, providing time for networking and fellowship
Registration closes Monday, July 20 at noon.
We hope you’ll join us for this behind-the-scenes look at one of the Quad Cities’ most exciting transportation and recreational infrastructure projects, followed by an afternoon of networking and fun at Iron Tee.
Event Schedule
1500 – Arrive and gather at the east bridge abutment
1510 – 1600 – Guided Gateway Bridge construction site tour
1600 – 1800 – Networking social, food, beverages, and golf activities at Iron Tee (3rd Floor)
Parking & Site Access
Attendees should park in the large public parking lot west of Iron Tee Golf. From the parking lot, follow the walking path behind ORA Orthopedics to the east bridge abutment where the tour will begin promptly at 1510.
Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for a short walk and active construction site conditions. Construction high visibility safety vests are encouraged.
