WHAT: Tour of USARCENT Mission Training Complex
The Mission Training Complex supports U.S. Army Central (USARCENT) command’s individual and collective digital training and battle staff training using constructive simulations with command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence interoperability. Opened in 2025, the Complex aligns with USARCENT’s goal to modernize the force to be postured to fight and win our nation’s wars in the Middle East and Central Asia. USARCENT is headquartered at Shaw AFB. Other tenants of the base include the 20th Fighter Wing, the Air Force’s largest combat F-16 wing. Also collocated are U.S. Air Forces Central Command headquarters, the air component of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and 15TH Air Force HQ.
Maj Roderick McNiel and USARCENT MTC team will lead the tour.
Parking is located across the street adjacent to USARCENT HQ and highlighted on the map below. Meet in front of the main entrance. Please allow time for parking and base entrance, as needed.
We will not have lunch at this meeting; however, those wanting to eat lunch on base are welcome or can bring a lunch and enjoy available outdoor seating areas in the athletic complex nearby.
Visitors needing to obtain a visitor’s pass should access the Main Gate. Visitors with existing base access can access the Sumter Gate.
