Help us celebrate 30 years of excellence by recognizing the individuals and firms whose leadership, innovation, and service exemplify the mission of SAME and the Washington DC Post. Individuals can be nominated for military, government civilian, industry, and young professional in most categories. Additionally businesses can be recognized for service to the profession and support for SAME’s national strategic goals.

Individual Awards
- Distinguished Service to the DC Post – Honors long-standing SAME members for exceptional leadership and sustained contributions to the DC Post.
- Outstanding Contributions to the Engineering Profession – Recognizes engineers for notable achievements in design or engineering excellence.
- Outstanding Contributions to Architecture – Celebrates architects for distinguished accomplishments in the field of architecture.
- Outstanding Contributions to Construction – Honors individuals whose work has advanced the construction profession.
- Outstanding Contributions to Technology – Recognizes members who have advanced the application or adoption of innovative technology.
- Outstanding Contributions to Marketing and Communications – Acknowledges impactful communication strategies or marketing efforts that advance SAME’s mission.
- Young Civilian and Young Military Member Awards – Highlights emerging leaders (age 39 and under) for outstanding professional contributions and community impact.
- Young Member Award – Honors a young SAME member who demonstrates exceptional leadership and sustained engagement in the Society.
- Post Service Award – Recognizes members who have dedicated years of meaningful service to the success of the DC Post.
- Student Leadership Award – Celebrates current students or recent graduates demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and commitment to SAME’s mission.
Sustaining Member Firm Awards
- Small Business Member of the Year (<100 employees) – Recognizes a small business that actively supports SAME programs and community initiatives.
- Medium Firm Member of the Year (101–2,499 employees) – Honors a medium-sized company for leadership, outreach, and mentoring engagement.
- Large Firm Member of the Year (2,500+ employees) – Highlights a large firm’s sustained contributions to SAME at the Post, Regional, and National levels.

The 30th Annual Awards Program will be held on January 28, 2026, at the National Press Club.
